Because condoms are the most widely used form of contraception and provide the best protection from sexually transmitted diseases, we often take it for granted that people know the proper way to use them. In fact condom instructions are often not taught in the schools or even discussed among friends. And unfortunately the condom instructions on the actual packaging for the condoms, all too often goes unread. So what is the proper way to use a condom?

Condom instructions are actually quite simple. After carefully opening the package, remove the condom from the wrapping. If you have long nails, be especially careful not to puncture or tear the condom with your nail. Gently place the condom with the ring away from the penis, onto the tip. Squeeze the tip as you unroll the condom down the length of the shaft. And that is all there is too it.

But what you might not realize is that the condom instructions do not end there. It is important to remove your condom properly as well. When sex is over, carefully grasp the base of your penis as you withdraw to prevent the condom from slipping off. Pull the condom off gently being careful not to spill the contents, and discard. By knowing how to use a condom properly, you will greatly increase your chance of staying safe during sex.
