Are Gay Condoms Different?
Are gay condoms different than regular condoms? Do you need to buy special gay condoms or can you use condoms off the shelf from your local drug store? Some people may think that these are silly questions, but if you are not sure what to do it can be embarrassing and confusing.
There are no special gay condoms; you can use any condoms for gay sex. And just as with heterosexual couplings, it is important to use a condom to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. Each partner is likely to have a preference, and it is alright to experiment with a variety of different condoms until you find one that you are both happy with. Durex condoms are a favorite among gay men because they are said to be the strongest condoms on the market. Some men prefer a textured or ribbed condom to provide extra stimulation and sensation.
If you are shopping for gay condoms remember that all condoms work the same way, and will provide you with the protection that you need. You may be able to find condoms that are specifically packaged for the gay man in a specialty store, but regular condoms found at the drug store will do the job.
